Author, Editor, Wife, Mother, and more…
As a small girl, Jac-Ann never quite fit in. —Stop me if you’ve heard this tale before— She found comfort among the pages of books, in the company of her grandmother, also an avid reader. And through those poems by Poe, the Epic tale of Eragon, and the life lived in the hole in the ground, she found a place to call home. Fantasy. It was a home that would follow her throughout the various places and stages of life led. It’s a place she hopes to share with others in her own written works, with a theme woven throughout of accepting the dark with the light, the good and the bad.
Whilst finding her footing in the author space, a new passion was brought to light, which was helping others accomplish their dreams of crafting their stories and publishing them to share with the world. Storytelling is as old as time (Or so the story goes), and in today’s technological renaissance, it’s more important than ever to write down your stories and share them.
Hi, I’m Jac-Ann Marie.
If you’ve ever walked among the forests of the Pacific Northwest, you would know the magic that is the color green. Trees, moss, ferns, grasses, fields—every shade of green you can imagine, bursting with life in every inch. That is where my love for the fantastical began.
I won’t bore you with the same old “my love for books is for the escapism…” Instead, I’ll tell you a story—what better way to convince you to support my small editing fantasy business?
Many years ago, when I was just a little girl, I began reading. I loved checking out books at the library and especially cherished the shiny new books I got to buy at the book fair. As I got older, that love shifted from Junie B. Jones to Christopher Paolini. I read Eragon so many times, the binding became fragile and threatened its own annihilation with every turn of the page. I shared this love for fantasy with my late grandmother, and to this day, I still cherish the time I spent in her quiet company, reading of far-off lands in worlds much different from our own.
As one does, I lost that spark—that joy I got from reading. I worked many, many, many hours, I trained a lot of people, and I like to think I made a difference in their lives for the better. But I didn’t feel fulfilled. Then, by sheer luck of the universe, I found my husband (or rather, he found me, as I’m constantly getting lost). A few years later, I’m cradling our baby boy, nap-trapped, and restless in my thoughts. I turned to books.
I found that spark again and even started writing. I wrote and wrote until I had a whole book, and then… THE EDITING. That’s when it all began. I loved it. I edited for friends, I beta read, I did everything I could to learn the craft of writing, hoarding editing knowledge like some fire-breathing dragon, and found my passion. Something I can help others with. And that’s how Lines and Lore Editorial was born.
